Three Trends That Will Shape the Future of Gaming

The gaming industry has come a long way in a surprisingly short time. Just a few years ago, eGames were basements and bedrooms affairs. Today, four out of ten internet users are gamers. And that doesn’t always mean having expensive gaming gear. It can also be one game app installed on the phone.

So, which are the biggest trends in the gaming industry so far? Here’s the list.

1. Gaming Consoles Will Make Comeback

While mobile gaming is the preferred mode for most people, it is not the best. These small devices are often not built to withstand hours of heavy gaming. Still, mobile devices make a good entry point to serious gaming.

For the best experience, you might want to get dedicated gaming hardware. And a console is often the first option. It is cheaper compared to a powerful computer, and it comes with most benefits of a dedicated gaming setup. That explains why consoles are expected to make a comeback this year.

2. Cloud Gaming Is on the Rise

Cloud computing is one of the many blessings of living in this great time. In this case, the tech is allowing gamers to use any device and still access the same content across the board. Take Fortnite for an example. A player on an android device sees the same things as someone on a console or PC.

Anyone who grew up in the 90s knows how game-changing this is.

3. Broadcast Is a Major Trend

Twitch made over $1.5 billion in 2019, hosting user-generated content. The platform boasts of having over 15 million active users and a total of 2.2 million broadcasters.

Also, there are thousands of gaming channels on Youtube, and they all get enough traffic to keep the contributors going. So broadcasting is a significant trend in 2020, and it is going nowhere.
